Welcome to the Santa Cruz Film Festival
The Ninth Santa Cruz Film Festival wrapped up on Saturday, May 15 at the historic Del Mar Theatre with the Awards Ceremony and screening of the locally produced film, Etienne!. Thank you to everyone who showed up to celebrate the finale of our ninth edition.
2010 was the most successful in the Festival's history. A Festival record 4,400 film lovers joined us at the 51 screenings of 133 independent films from 13 countries, 40 of which were locally-produced, at the 5 educational panels that we hosted, and the parties we held every night all over Santa Cruz.
See John Warner's photographs of the Festival here. More will come soon so check back often.

Thank you to the Santa Cruz community which continues to support independent film and moving image art, and has demonstrated again the value and contribution the Festival brings to the cultural vitality of the greater Monterey Bay Area.
Our deepest gratitude goes out to our sponsors and partners, as well, whose material support of the Festival make it possible for us to bring exceptional independent film to Santa Cruz and allows us to further our mission of developing and producing creative educational programs.
Congratulations, finally, to the filmmakers. Your creative achievements are astounding and the Festival is proud to have presented your work to our dedicated and enthusiastic audiences. The diversity and originality of your work is an inspiration, and all who attended were enlightened, entertained and occasionally shocked by the images and messages you communicated.
The Festival looks forward to bigger and better things in the future. A solid foundation was laid this year upon which to develop new partnerships within the community, and to increase and improve our Festival and year-round educational and programmatic activities. Thank you and see you around town.
